Dear PLBC Family,
In this time of uncertainty there have been many questions circulating regarding when and how our congregation will once again gather for worship. We want you to know that the church leadership is closely monitoring the situation with the hope of reinstating corporate worship as soon as feasible. Our COVID response team includes Doug Conley, Dr. Carol Featherstone, Dr. Isaac Engholm, David Mead, Tonya Scott, Craig Muri, and Chad Williams.
Regarding reopening corporate worship at PLBC, here are a few things to note:
1. The COVID response team was put in place at the start of the pandemic and will continue to meet as necessary.
2. While we would like our church gatherings to be whole again as soon as possible, church life at PLBC is not going to look the same for the foreseeable future.
3. Our focus is on reestablishing in-person Sunday morning worship as soon as possible and we will communicate reasonable protocols for safe assembly at that time.
4. We will continue to provide the livestream option for those who are not comfortable regathering in the near term.
It is important to recognize that the members of our church body will have varying comfort levels and opinions about gathering and fellowshipping once again. In all circumstances, the Bible instructs us to love our neighbors as ourselves, to surrender our own rights and preferences for the sake of others, and to outdo each other in showing honor (Mark 12:31, Philippians 2:3–4, Romans 12:10).
We look forward to the time when we can once again meet and worship our worthy God together. If you have questions regarding the church’s ongoing response, please reach out to a member of the committee listed above. Above all, pray that God’s good purposes in the current crisis will not be lost on us, our community, and our world.
Together in His glad service,
Pastor Craig and Pastor Chad
