History of Parkers Lake Baptist Church

Parkers Lake was founded in 1964 as an independent baptist church. In 1974, we relocated just a few hundred yards down County Road 6 to our present facility.

In 1987, the congregation of Crosstown Baptist Church came over and merged with PLBC to form a new unified church body.

The congregation of PLBC called Craig Muri in 1990 to pastor PLBC, and he served faithfully as senior pastor for thirty years until his retirement in September of 2020.

In 2013 the congregation called Chad Williams to serve as associate pastor to minister in outreach, youth, and family ministries through discipleship, teaching, and preaching. In September of 2020 the church congregation voted to elect him as our senior pastor. In February of 2021 the congregation voted to call Craig Muri to serve in the role of Pastor Emeritus.  Pastor Terry and Pastor David joined the staff in 2023.

By our history and by our choice, we prioritize the Bible as God’s Word in our teaching and preaching. It has always been the source of authority for what we believe and how we live out those beliefs. We are committed to keeping Christ as the Chief Shepherd over our flock and His Word as the source of all our teaching and beliefs.
